Westfield Firefighters Take Center Stage

This weekend, firefighters touted their work at the fourth annual safety day.  Throughout Saturday afternoon, demonstrations from local rescue groups, hospitals, and the police department kept the crowd in awe.  However, firefighters took center stage, when they rescued a trapped victim from a fake car wreck.

IMMI Officially Presents Latest in Safety Equipment to Westfield Fire

WESTFIELD, Ind.— IMMI, the global leader in the design, manufacturing and advanced safety equipment, officially presented the Westfield Fire Department with their newest safety equipment, to help better protect firefighters in the line of duty.  In addition to the safety equipment, IMMI donated $5,000 department.

“We’re thrilled, not only officially receive the most innovative equipment for our new truck, but to also know that it was all made right here, in our great community of Westfield,” said Mayor Andy Cook.  “IMMI is dedicated to not only bringing safety to our first responders here in our own backyard, but also around the world,” added IMMI CEO Larry Gray.

The company is best known for its safety innovations in seatbelts on school buses, child seats, commercial and military vehicles.   In June, the country’s largest fire department, FDNY, awarded IMMI a special commendation for their work in the advancement of safety for first responders.

The Westfield Fire Department responds to over 2,000 incidents a year and has been protecting their community since 1904.

IMMI is the largest manufacturer in Hamilton County, employing over 700 people at their corporate headquarters in Westfield.  IMMI is also home to CAPE, the Center for Advanced Product Evaluation, which was awarded the 2011 Crash Test Facility of the Year by the Automotive Testing Technology International magazine.
